Drop 002: The Acid Collection

Drop 002 is here and it's got that squelch.

If you know, you know. If you don't, let me put you on. The TB-303 was this little silver box Roland made in 1981. It was supposed to simulate a bass guitar for solo musicians practicing at home. It was terrible at that. Like hilariously bad. Nobody bought it.

But then people started tweaking the knobs wrong. On purpose. Cranking the resonance and cutoff until it screamed. And what came out was this wet, bubbly, alien sound that had absolutely no business being on a dancefloor.

It ended up on every dancefloor.

DJ Pierre. Phuture. Acid Tracks. 1987. That's the moment right there. One track basically invented a whole subgenre and gave it a name. Acid house. And the 303 was the whole thing. Not part of it. THE thing.

So for Drop 002 we went deep. The 303 tee takes the machine's interface -- those little silver knobs and that row of switches -- and strips it down to pure geometry. Clean lines. No noise. Just the essential shape of the thing that changed the sound. We printed it on a forest green heavyweight blank because acid house wasn't just neon. It was dark rooms and late nights and the color of a Chicago alley at 4am.

The Jack Your Body tee is the other side of that coin. If the 303 is the machine, Jack Your Body is the movement. Big bold type. Steve "Silk" Hurley energy. The kind of thing you'd see on a flyer stapled to a telephone pole in 1986 telling you to be at the Warehouse by midnight.

Both tees drop February 12th at 7pm EST. Limited run. When they're gone, they're gone. We don't do restocks on drops. That's the whole point. If you were there, you were there.

Set your alarms. Or don't. We're not your mom.
